Obituary

Catherine Ann McClure Jackson, known as "Ann," was born on January 18, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama to Nathaniel Oliver McClure and Catherine Burns McClure. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two siblings, Nina McClure Turner and Nathaniel Oliver McClure Jr.

Ann accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at First Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Later she joined Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ann attended Wilkerson Elementary School and graduated from A.H. Parker High School in 1967. Attended Lawson State Community College, Wiley College and Grambling State University. While in college she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA).

She relocated to Winston-Salem, NC with her husband in 1980. She attended Piney Grove Baptist Church, Saints Home United Methodist Church and Saint Benedict Catholic Church.

Ann was a very creative Seamstress and Tailor. She started up her own business Ann's Monogram Sewing & Sales. She also worked at Forsyth Medical Center as a Dialysis Consultant and loved working with the senior population.  With a Physical Education background, she assisted the water Aerobics Instructor at the YWCA.

She departed her life on December 5, 2020 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She leaves a loving husband, Timothy Jackson, Jr.; three ardent children, Timothy Jackson, III (Shaneesha), Nathan Oliver Jackson (Montria), and Timmel; grandchildren, Timothy, Ciera, Kaillou, Natalie; one great-granddaughter, Ailani; three sisters, Ebbie Mae Phillips (EW), Nadine Poole, Bessemer, AL, and Debra McClure Peterson (Larry), Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, Jimmy McClure, Las Vegas, NV and Rickey McClure (Linda), Birmingham, AL; sister-in-law, Veverly Ann Jackson-Locke (Dean); honorary sisters and brothers, Olivia Reese, Marie W. Knight, Kay W. Williams, Patricia Joyce, Phyllis Spann, Denny Simmons, Robert Windham, Robert & Verna Turner, and Carol and State Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, December 18, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020. Interment will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 in Salisbury National Cemetery.

A memorial service for Catherine Ann McClure Jackson will be announced at a later date in Birmingham, Alabama.
