Ms. Cassandra Ann Roberts entered this world in Winston-Salem, NC on February 11, 1952. After several years of battling illness, she began her final journey to her eternal home on June 18, 2022 at Atrium Health- Wake Forest Baptist.
An avid and passionate scholar, Cassandra began her studies as a graduate of A. H. Anderson Senior High School. From there she continued her education at North Carolina Central University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts. She went on to receive a Master of Science in Library Service from Atlanta University.
Cassandra's love of literature and education led to her pursue Librarianship in North Carolina and Virgina. After several years of Library service, she began an extensive career with CVS Pharmacy. Her love and passion for people made her a well-known and loved associate and co-worker. Cassandra received many awards and recognitions for her dedication and service.
Being a lifelong fan of the Arts, Cassandra, a musician, loved Classical music and the Symphony, ballet, opera, tennis, and golf. Her love for culinary arts and shopping led to numerous travels overseas to visit her loved ones.
Cassandra was preceded in death by her mother, Mocille Roberts Chisholm.
Her fellowship and hearty laugh will be missed by her only sister, Ms. Tywanda Roberts Parker of Prince George, VA; nieces, Erika (Jamaul) Parker-Smith of Boston, MA, Ikia Parker of Charlotte, NC, and Brittany Pitts of Roanoke Rapids, NC; along with her great-nieces, Xavier and Rawan Parker-Smith; and great-nephew, T'Challa Parker-Smith. She will also be missed by her cousin whom she loved like a brother and a host of cousins; her close friends, Kelly Basham and Josie Shirley; her church home family at Goler Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church; and her kind neighbors at Adler's Point.
Cassandra's family takes comfort that she is resting peacefully after years of suffering through multiple health challenges.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 27, 2022 in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
