Obituary
Cassandra Velvet Douglas, 56 passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after a brief period of illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and George Douglas, Jr.; her sister, Celestine Anne Douglas; and her uncle, DeWalter Rice.
She is survived by her sister, Vanessa Douglas Bratton (Ruben, Jr.) of Winston-Salem, NC; two nieces, Marguerite Bratton Murden (Henry, Jr.) and LaKisha Bratton Roseborough (Anthony); one great-nephew, Henry Mack Murden, III. and one great-niece, Riana Gail Murden all of Winston-Salem, NC; two aunts, Dorothy Douglas Patterson (Bishop Frederick D.) and Pastor Gemine G. Rice; one uncle, Theodore R. Douglas of Black Mountain, NC; and a host of other relatives and man, many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, June 2, 2008 from the Hanes Memorial CME Church with Reverend Clarence Cox, III. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
