Ms. Cassandra Burns, affectionately known as "Sandra", departed this earthly life on December 17, 2022 to be with her heavenly father after an extended period of illness.  Cassandra was born on March 23, 1950 to Willie Lee and Julia Burns in Albemarle, NC.  Cassandra was a very crafty person that created beautiful floral arrangements and jewelry.  She was also a number one Panther's fan!

Cassandra leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter, Monica Samantha Burns; granddaughter, Sha'Mia Cassandra Burns; two grandsons, Tre'Quan Dominic Burns and Char'rell Jay-Sean Burns; one handsome great-grandson, Zae Ashton Burns; four brothers, Thomas H. Burns, Carl J. (Roxie) Burns, Myron Burns, and Donnie (Carla) Davis of Indiana; three sisters, Priscilla Ann Burns, Julia Lucille Martin, and Linda Chambers; three sisters-in-love, Blondie L. Burns, Cynthia Burns, and Margaret Burns; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Cassandra will truly be missed by those that loved her unconditionally.  She was well loved but we know God loved her more.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
