Loved By Many...Missed by All

Carrie Mae Thomas Shore was born February 28, 1923, and was faithfully married to Pride Leo Shore for 65 years. Carrie departed this earthly world on August 14, 2017 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

Mrs. Shore was a faithful member and Mother of the Church at the St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang on the gospel choir and truly enjoyed the sermons and services, when health permitted. She retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company where she was a dedicated employee.

Mrs. Shore was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel E. Thomas and Nettie Myers; loving husband, Pride Leo Shore; son, Donald "Boot" Shore; grandson, Thomas "Derrick" Shore; & 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Mrs. Shore will be forever remembered by her adoring sons and daughter in-laws, Pride Edwin (Willaseaina) Shore and Thomas Nathaniel (Gloria) Shore; 9 grandchildren,  Dessie R. Scales, Santé A. Shore-Turner, Shanetta Y.  Shore, Todd Corely (Iesha), Pride Landrey Shore (Kim), Chad R. Shore (Tarsha), Crystal L. Warren, Tia L. Shore and LaDonna P. Shore; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Nellie Thomas Foster; brother-in-law, Hector Cox, Jr.; devoted family friend, Robert Galloway;  and memories of Mrs. Shore that will also be cherished by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the Benbow Chapel AME Zion Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
