Obituary

Carrie L. Samuels went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at her home. She was born June 19, 1943 in New Jersey to Bettye and Ronald Stubbs. She was a graduate of Carver High School.

Carrie Samuels was a proud and faithful servant for the Lord. Her greatest pride was in helping and caring for others. She was previously employed as a licensed practical nurse at Forsyth Medical Center until December 1999. She continued her employment in Las Vegas, NV working also with Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Bettye Stubbs; father, Ronald Stubbs; sister, Mary Alice Williams; and husband, James Samuels.

A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she leaves to cherish her memory, to her sister, Yvonne Stubbs Small of Fort Lauderdale, FL; step-sisters and step-brothers, Carsandra (Gene) Koger, Lurline Jackson, Ricardo and Rodney Moore all of Winston-Salem, NC her sons, Anthony Stubbs of Greensboro, NC, and Ronald Crump, and her daughters, Cheryl Stubbs, Bettye McConniehead (Thomas), and Candace Goodson all of Winston-Salem, NC; an aunt, Anni Tole (Alan) Stubbs; an uncle, Stanley Stubbs of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a very close cousin, Kanzenner Wilks of Winston-Salem, NC; very dear friends, Lindy Ellis and Jeanette Johnson both of Winston-Salem, NC, and Rachel Alston-Clyburn of Greensboro, NC; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Antioch Christian Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 pm Thursday at the church. The family can be contacted at 4375 Joseph Samuels Dr.
