Carrie Zenobia O'Neill Jefferson, 89, died peacefully Friday, November 26, 2021.  She was the last-born child of Maggie and Clifton O'Neill, Sr. on November 20, 1932.

She graduated from Atkins High School in 1951 and Winston-Salem Teachers College in 1955.  "Nobie" was a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was an Executive Secretary serving representatives and later Judges Henry Frye and the late Richard C. Erwin.

Zenobia is survived by her nieces, Lawanda Malloy, Trina (Carl) Gibbons, Donna Guye O'Neill, and Artesa Bohannon; nephew, Virgil (Darleen) O'Neill; and many friends and extended family.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, December 2, 2021 at St. John CME Church with Reverend Dr. Valerie Tate Everett officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.  The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Thursday at the Church.
