Mrs. Carrie Lee Davis Smith, 80, left her earthly home and answered God's call on Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born on May 21, 1941 in Winchester, Kentucky to the late James and Lillie Davis.  Carrie moved to Winston-Salem, NC in 1959 and married John L. Smith. They had three children, Veronica, Johnnie and Kevin.

Carrie was an employee of AT&T (Western Electric) until she retired. She also retired from Amp/Tyco. After retirement, she worked for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System.

She is survived by her husband, John L. Smith; three children, Veronica Anderson, Johnnie (David) Brown, and Kevin (Katrina) Smith, all of Winston-Salem, NC; nine grandchildren, Terron Smith, Travis (Rakesha) Smith, Angelette Anderson, David Brown II, K'Nycha Smith Johnson, Charles Anderson Jr, Dominique Brown, Kamonyl Becton, and DeVito Brown; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Julia Hill (Detroit, MI), Loretta Cummings (Winter Garden, FL) and Rosie (Calvin) Wright (Oakboro, NC); several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Russell Funeral Home, 822 Carl Russell Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Due to Covid-19, there will be no visitation with the family before the service.

Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens, 3663 Piedmont Memorial Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
