Carolyn Wright Neal

July 24, 1941 – June 22, 2025

Carolyn Elizabeth Wright Neal died Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at age 83. She was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., the daughter of James and Dorothy Davis.

Mrs. Neal was united in marriage to King David Neal on December 25, 1958; almost 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2015. They have 4 children, Sharon (Michael) Coker, David Neal, Davida Neal and Pastor Tony (Michelle) Neal, Sr.; 3 grandchildren David (Rita), Tony, Jr., and Jailyn; 5 great grandchildren, Naomi, Ryleigh, Carter, Caidyn, Legacii; 2 sisters, Linda Moore and Cynthia Davis; 2 brothers, Tyrone (Grace) Davis, and Rodney Davis; a godson, Gregory Wells; a god brother, John (Norma) Thompson; devoted nieces and nephews; all her "adopted" children and a host of family and friends.

Mrs. Neal worked at Baptist Hospital for 27 years. But her true passion and gift was taking care of her family!  She loved to cook, so every meal was made with love.

Mrs. Neal attended Greater Faith Empowerment Church under the leadership of her son, Pastor Tony Neal, Sr. She loved her church and served as a member of the Pastor's Aide and Women of Zion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Davis; 4 brothers, Zegory Davis, James Davis, Orlando Davis and Cedric Davis.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Greater Faith Empowerment Church, 1630 Enterprise Road, Lexington, NC 27295. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
