Mrs. Carolyn Azalee Scales, affectionately known as "Lulu," was born October 25, 1948 and departed this life unexpectedly from the earthly realm to her eternal resting place on November 20, 2025.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her  lifelong partner, Albert McDowell; father, Christopher Scales; mother, Ophelia Boston Scales; brother, Christopher Boston; grandsons, Donte' Shipp; Jonathan McCravey, Jr. and Justin McCravey; and beloved cousin, Shirley Lewis.

She leaves to mourn, her children, Pamela Scales, Tonya Scales-Shipp, Isaac Williams, Tracy Dent, Harold Scales, and Tunnell Williams; one sister, Shawn Wilson; twelve grandchildren, Alexia Dent, Antoinette Aiken, Canary Wilson, Hersheka, Hajji, Hakeema, and Hakeem Scales; Rakeem, Brian, Dominique, and Damien Shipp, and Michael Hollister; seventeen,  great grands, Jalen and Jonathan Cockerham, Jamya, Jaxton, Je'lah, and Jacy McCravey, Amreki Miller, Honor, Humble, Honest, Honey, and Hakeem Scales, Jr., Ceonica Clark, Khanya Aiken-Johnson; Nakai'jah Wilson, Isaiah Simmons, and Maleah Shipp; one sister-in-law, Martha McClam; one brother-in-law, Harold Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VIEWING AT THE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation and viewing will be held from 11:30am until 12:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
