Our mother, sister, companion, and friend, Carolyn Ann Johnson, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 21, 1946 in Forsyth County to the late Monicure Johnson and Vermell Julius. She attended Paisley High School. She was an employee of BellSouth for many years. Cooking, shopping, and keeping a clean house were some of her passions.
She was preceded in death by her sister Essie Mae Patterson.
Left to cherish her memories are her sister, Catherine Shore (Bronal); her loving soul mate, Donald Dove; her four sons, Reginald Johnson, Donnell Julius (Alisa), Timothy Delos Johnson, and Allen Johnson; one daughter, Chontelle Thompson (Kenneth); ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four nieces; three nephews; several cousins; devoted friend Vonsile Dixon; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 6:00pm Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Selena Johnson officiating. The family visitation will be held from 5:30pm until 6:00pm on Wednesday at the Chapel.
