Carolyn Lynette Harley peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 62.

Carolyn was born March 12, 1963, as the fourth child to Kay and Hensley Harley in Winston-Salem, NC. She was a 1982 graduate of West Forsyth High School. While she worked various jobs throughout her lifetime, Carolyn had a deep love for children, which helped aid her in her career as a childcare worker for 25+ years. She was beloved by all children in her care, from Exodus Child Enrichment Center (Winston-Salem, NC) to Hester's Creative Schools (Greensboro, NC).

Carolyn became one of Jehovah's Witnesses when her love for Jehovah God moved her to dedicate her life by getting baptized on December 29, 2012, where she served faithfully until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kay Francis Ingram Harley and Hensley Lee Harley; and her brother, Marvin Harley.

She is survived by her three sisters, Terri (Bryant) Baskins, Velverlyn (Melvin) Johnson, and Jennifer Harley; one brother, Solomon Harley; one son, Derrick Harley; one niece, Kayla (Verbi) King; two nephews, Jerell Harley and Dré-Von Gee; one niece and nephew-in-law, Latrice (Jerell) Harley and Verbi Jennings; three great-nieces, Briana King, Trinity King, and Janelle Jennings; four great-nephews, Brandon King, Shymere King, Tristan King, and Jahaje Jennings; and a host of cousins, friends, godchildren, and loved ones.

Carolyn will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her love of people, her lovely singing voice, her amazing motherhood, and her love for Jehovah.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 12:30pm on Friday at the Chapel.
