Carolyn Wardlow Campbell was born on September 6, 1955 in Winston-Salem, NC. After a lifetime of caring for others, she passed away on September 10, 2024. She attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, continued her education degree in nursing. She was employed by Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center where she was the floor nurse on the memory care unit for 27 years. She retired for a brief period and accepted a position with The Oaks at Forsyth as a charge nurse on station two for ten years. The last seven years of her nursing career were spent at Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community. She retired with 45 years of dedicated and compassionate service.

Carolyn was an active participant in her grandchildren's lives and events. She loved to go on family reunion beach trips and spending quality time with her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lee Campbell Jr.; husband, Michael Lee Campbell; parents, Joshua Wardlow and Ernestine P. Wardlow; brothers, Jerry Wardlow and Charles Wardlow; nephew, Donald A. Hill, Jr.; nephew, David E. Wardlow, Jr.; and uncle, Amos Pigford.

Those who survive to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lelia (Steven); grandson, Jackson Epps; granddaughter, Nyla Grace Epps; sisters, Gwendolyn (Lowen) Goulbourne and Gloria (David) Williams; brothers, David (Vera) Wardlow and Reginald Wardlow; nephews, Anthony (Carol) Sheff and Zeb (Julia) G. Sheff; niece, Lisa (Donald) Hill; great-nieces and nephews, Zeb G. Sheff, IV, Precious Sheff, Jasmine Sheff, Samara Sheff and Joshua Hill; uncle, Leander Pigford; first cousins, Evelyn (Fred) and Jessica Wardlow; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Wednesday at the Chapel.
