Obituary
After a 20 year battle with Lupus and Parkinson's disease, Carole Benton Ricks entered her eternal rest in Winston-Salem, NC on January 14, 2013.
She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, Social Worker (MSW), newspaper columnist for the Charlotte Post ("Carole's Corner"), college professor, radio show hostess ("Dear Carole" on WPEG), and business owner.
She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Abunaw; children, Vance Ricks, Omar Ricks, and Nia Ricks (John) Davenport; 5 grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel W-S, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Friday at the Chapel.
