~A Life Well Lived~

Mrs. Carmela Furches Valentine was born on January 18, 1962 to James Furches and Ruth E. Moses-Furches.  She departed this life to be with her mother in Heaven on Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Carmela enjoyed connecting with others and was adored by all.  She had truly become the matriarch of her family.  She loved putting family first. A couple of Carmela's favorite pastimes were cooking and traveling.  She was fond of holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.  She loved shopping and was especially fond of Michael Kors.

Those left to cherish the legacy of her love are her husband of 22 years, Bobby R. Valentine; daughters, Charnae Furches-Cobos and Devinia (Rod) Richards-Knight; son, Derrell (Tiffany) Valentine; three sisters, Cornella Furches (Ronald) Brown, Chalette Furches, and Carla Furches; in-laws, Bobby L. Valentine (Rubie) and Ms. Sarah Valentine; sister-in-law, Edwanda Robinson (Dwayne); four nieces, Shameka (Irvin) Fields, Jacoya Burgess, Shantia Brown, and Chanae Furches; four nephews, Ronald Brown, Jr., Keshaun Furches, Cornel Brown, and Deaje Brown; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other family members and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
