Mr. Carlton Irwin Brunson of 1218 Gholson Street passed on May 28, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 19, 1957 to Sarah Tyson Brunson and Willie James Brunson.

Mr. Brunson, known affectionately as "Jim" or "JB", was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Johnician Ricky Brunson and Grady Willie Brunson; and one sister, Patricia Brunson Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Carlton A. Brunson, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; stepson, Antwone Clark of W-S, NC; two brothers, Allen Brunson of the home and Carl E. Brunson of California; a host of nieces and nephews; a very devoted partner of 14 years, Dawn Clark of the home; his former wife, Sharon Brunson; and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop John C. Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
