Obituary

Carlos Fowler (1965 – 2026)

Mr. Carlos Fowler, affectionately known as “Los,” age 61, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, peacefully transitioned from this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at his residence. A lifelong native of Winston Salem/Forsyth County, Carlos received his early education in the local public schools and was a proud graduate of East Forsyth High School.

Carlos was blessed with extraordinary artistic and musical gifts that shaped his life and deeply enriched the lives of others. A remarkably talented musician, he mastered several instruments and possessed a natural ability to bring sound, spirit, and community together.

For 25 dedicated years, he faithfully served as the Assistant Music Director at Union Baptist

Church in Winston-Salem, N.C., where he poured his heart into ministry through music. He was

also employed by B.E. Aerospace, later known as Collins Aerospace until 2023.

Carlos is survived by his stepfather, Mr. Levonnia Wilson of Winston-Salem, NC; his loving daughters, Chantinge Stover of Lancaster, S.C., and Carla Fowler of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his sisters, Evon Wilson and Shawana Brown (Jerry); his brother, Ulysses Wilson, all of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his devoted cousin, Dr. Faye McRavion (Dr. James McRavion) of High Point, N.C.; two grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, fellow musicians, and friends who loved him dearly.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Russell Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Union Baptist Church, 1200 N. Trade Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 with Bishop Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating.
