Carlis Devon Lane departed this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on March 10, 1967 in Forsyth County to John Hull Lane, Jr. and Delois Gean Lane. She was educated in the public schools of Winston-Salem and was a graduate of North Forsyth High School. She furthered her education at Forsyth Technical Community College.
After completing her education she worked for Smart Start at Winston-Salem State University.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem and she loved life and all that life offered.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Ashleigh Lane; one sister, Dejon (Phillip) Scales; two brothers, Rodney (Cassandra) Lane and Germaine (Melanie) Lane; one grandmother, Trula S. Lawrence; three aunts, Linda (Gary) Graham, Rosalind Lawrence, and Christine Evans all of Winston-Salem, NC; one uncle, Lee (Shirley) Smith of Chicago, Il; one great-aunt, Mamie Tribble of Belmont, NC; a very devoted friend, Charles Oaks; and many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and special friends. Carlis will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 12Noon Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until Noon on Monday at the Church.
