Carl Thomas Hicks, Sr., was born on October 3, 1924 to the late Gary and Eula Mae Hicks in Oxford, NC.

He passed away October 10, 2017.

He was the chef of Zaebo's Restaurant of RJR in the 70's.  An opportunity to change careers came for Carl in the late 70's when he joined the workforce at RJR Tobacco Co. where he retired in the late 1980's.

A devoted father, grandfather, churchman, and friend, Carl leaves to cherish his memories his two sons, Barry Vincent (Eleanor) Lipscomb of Las Vegas, NV and Carl Thomas (Monique) Hicks, Jr. of the city; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, October 16, 2017 at First Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Derwin Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the Hicks Family Cemetery, Oxford, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Monday at the Church.
