Mr. Carl Alreno Holland of 1926 Marble Street, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was born October 15, 1958 in Winston-Salem to Cecil and Rosa Holland. Carl, passionately known as "Bro" was a faithful member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the Music and Ushers ministries. Carl loved his work in the church as a gatekeeper. His service to the Usher's ministry was the joy of his life.

Carl worked many years at Forsyth Medical Center as a certified nurse assistant. He was most recently employed at Discount Auto Sales and Service. He was an avid motor cyclist and auto mechanic. He attended Forsyth Technical Institute where he studied auto mechanics. He went to be with his Savior on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine Shaw Holland; and brother, Cletis Alvon Holland.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving children, Tocarla Shaw and Torez Dawkins of Winston-Salem and Lakesha (Darrell Jr.) Dillingham-Kennedy of Bloomington, Illinois; three grandchildren, Zariah Shaw, Keyonna Rolle, and Darrell Kennedy III; his loving parents, Cecil Sr. and Rosa Holland; brothers, Cecil Jr. and Cedric (Mary) Holland; sister, Rhonda (Nathaniel) Dixon all of Winston-Salem; a devoted family friend, Jerome Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, May 6, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend James E. Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 1:30pm on Saturday at the Church.
