Mrs. Carey Conrad (Tootie) departed this life on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  She was born April 20, 1931 to the late James and Cosby Harris in Tazewell, VA.

She was a graduate of Tazewell High School.  At an early age committed her life to Christ and joined Tazewell Christian Church.  Her love and devotion to Christ was a driving force in how she lived her life.

Carey married Robert Moore in 1954 who preceded her in death.  From this union one son Robert (Bobby) Moore was born, who preceded her in death.  In 1975, Carey married Chamels Conrad who also preceded her in death.  From this union her family was enlarged with one daughter, LaToyna Hughes (Turhan). Also standing at the Gates of Heaven awaiting her are brothers James Harris (Courtney) and John Harris (Sonny).

Those left to cherish her memory include five sisters, Cynthia Turner (C), Frances Burns (Bill) (George), Peggy Gore (Peg), Patricia Staten (Ann), and Deborah Washington (Deb), two brothers, Charles Harris (Wade) and McKinley Harris (Kenny); two granddaughters, Whitney Sims-Moore and Tonyonna (Joshua); four great grandchildren, Brooke, Mekhi, Alexus, Brailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, 2021. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
