Candace Wilson Sandiford, age 66 years old, of Paterson/Newark, NJ passed away peacefully on September, 14, 2024 in Winston-Salem, NC. Candace was born on January 3, 1958 in Plaisance, Guyana in South America to Victor Wilson and Magnel Pitt. She later married and re-located to Paterson, NJ in the 80's.

Candace was known for being the most sweet, kind and caring person. She is also well-known for her strength and generosity. She was a beloved parent, sister, Aunt, grandmother and friend who cherished the good times spent with great people. Candace was particularly passionate about cooking and enjoying life.

She will be remembered for her honesty, love, or most importantly her smile. She leaves behind a legacy of both character and faith.

Candace Wilson is survived by her children, Jo-Anne Angela Avant, Alana Glenda Fung-A-Fat and Melinda Sue Fung-A-Fat; grandchildren, Madai Azzan Avant and Amaree Hollis; her siblings, Douglas Wilson, Brandis Wilson, Sr., Janice Luke, Birley Wilson, and Charlene Wilson; her nieces and nephews, Gavin Nurse, Dwayne Nurse, Saianne Nurse-Webster, Seamona Abrams, Oral Wilson, Brandis Wilson, Jr. , Maxwell Johnson, Rayvon Wilson, Darnell Beyanker, Amelia Wilson, Victor Herbert Wilson, Gavin Nickel Pollard and many many more. Candace Wilson will be deeply missed by all who knew her and to know her was to love her.

Candace's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing our mother.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, September 20, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Saturday at the Chapel.
