Calvin Leonard Guthrie was born in the Bronx, New York to the late Calvin Lowder Guthrie and the late Mattie Crawford Guthrie. He departed this life on March 4, 2020.

His family later moved to Staten Island, New York. Where he graduated from high school. He attended Winston- Salem State University.

He was employed with Central Printing (Hanes) and Josten's Publishing before declining health.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church . He was very active with the United Methodist Men and a former member of the Senior Usher Board. He enjoyed attending Mel Woodburn's Sunday School Couples Class.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Chandra Campbell (Maurice) and Charette Guthrie; his son, Calvin Guthrie II; his grandsons, Dayshaun Guthrie and Myles Campbell; and a host of cousins and friends.

Private memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021.
