Bruce Edward Maddox was born September 15, 1966 in Shelby, NC. He is the son of Mary Padgett Friday (Michael) and the late Edward Ray Mauney. He transitioned peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center.
On June 23, 2011, Bruce celebrated 21 years of marriage to Jacqueline Simmons-Maddox and was the father of two beautiful children, Bianca and Bruce II.
Bruce was a graduate of East Forsyth Sr. High and was employed by Deere-Hitachi as a welder.
In addition to his wife, children, and parents, those left to cherish his beautiful memories are two sisters, Pamela Wright and Lisa Edwards (Derrick) both of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Edward Maddox, Jr. (Wendy); in-laws, Velma and Billy J. Simmons, Sr. of Walkertown, NC; one brother-in-law, Billy J. Simmons, Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
