Obituary

Bruce David Bradsher was born July 16, 1949 to Luster David and Alma Winstead Bradsher in Hurdle Mills, NC. Bruce went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2025. He became a member of Union Grove Baptist church at an early age. He attended Central High School in Hillsboro, NC and later received his GED. He served in the US Army in 1967-1969, during the Vietnam War.
Bruce leaves in the hearts of those he cherished his wife, Sharon Jones Bradsher; daughter, Yolanda Hamer (Terry); son, Billy David Jones; mother-in-law,  Lillie Jones;  father-in-law, Billy Jones; granddaughter, Addison Hamer; two sisters, Linda B. Hopkins (Anthony) and Laverne "Pinky" Herriott (Ronnie); brother-in-law, Rondie Gore; nieces, Nicole Herriott-Mardre (Brian) and Jordan Gore; nephews, Ronnie J. Herriott (Kathrina) and Mason Gore; 5 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Bradsher and father, Luster Bradsher; a granddaughter, Amber Jean Torain; and sister-in-law, L'Anita Gore.
Bruce was a dedicated employee at Noel's Overhead Doors in Durham, NC for many years. He also worked with passion and commitment at Hopkins Services, Inc. for almost 20 years as a supervisor and floor technician. He was known there as "Mr. Bruce", where he was loved and respected.
Beyond his work he had a great love for football, basketball, keeping his vehicles clean and shiny. He enjoyed visiting family and friends.
Anyone that knew him knew his kind spirit and positive outlook on life. Bruce loved life and never met a stranger. When you would ask him how he was doing, the answer was always, "FANTASTIC!" He answered to many names... "Shorty, Saul Bug, and Wink Wink," depending on who it was calling him.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Saturday at the Chapel.

The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Novant Hospital and the Palliative care staff who went over and above for Bruce and the family during his brief time there. Also, to the many family members and friends who visited, sent cards, and prayed for the family during this time.
Special recognition for his long-time friend Maurice Wright for over 45 years, known as "Mo Money". Also, a close friend Felix Trinidad, owner of J.T. Auto Works.
