It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bridgette Hunter, on October 4, 2024. Bridgette left this world at the age of 59, following complications from surgery, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion.

Bridgette was born on September 26, 1965, in Gates County, NC, to the late Maxie and Evelyn Hunter. From a young age, she demonstrated a remarkable capacity for kindness and empathy, qualities that would define her throughout her life. She grew up in Winston Salem, where her roots in family and faith were firmly planted.

As the heart of our family, Bridgette dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her loved ones. She was the proud and devoted mother of two daughters, Charmaine (39) and Brooke (35), whom she raised with unconditional love and unwavering guidance. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and joy, where family gatherings were filled with laughter and cherished moments.

Bridgette's love extended to her role as a grandmother, where she found immense joy in her grandchildren, Dyshawn (21), Ni'Juel (18), Nevaeh (15), Zi'ona (13), Zy'eare (9), and the twins Chase and Brooklyn (1). She was affectionately known as the fun "MaMa," always ready with open arms, a listening ear, and a playful spirit. Bridgette took immense pleasure in organizing exciting outings and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Her siblings, James E. (Sharilyn) Hawks, Annette Hunter, Alvin (Paula) Hunter, Deric Hunter, Eric Hunter, Iris (Craig) McKnight, and Lisa Penn, will forever cherish her as a pillar of love and support. Bridgette's hearty laughter and generous spirit touched everyone she met. She had an extraordinary ability to make people feel valued and loved, a testament to her compassionate nature.

Bridgette's presence was a source of strength and comfort for all who knew her. Her genuine kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering faith left an indelible imprint on our hearts. Though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit will continue to guide us, and her love will remain a part of us forever.

As we gather to honor Bridgette's life, may we find solace in the love she shared and the memories she left behind. She will be dearly missed but cherished in our hearts forever.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, October 14, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Love & Faith Christian Fellowship, 521 Cinema Drive Kernersville, NC 27284.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Tuesday at the Church.
