Brenda Eller Tucker, 64 passed away peacefully at her home August 18, 2009. She was born in Wilkes County, NC January 14, 1945 to Floyd Lonzie Eller and Ollie Gwyn Eller.
She attended Lincoln Heights High School in North Wilkesboro, NC and graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport, CT. She attended The University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in Storrs, CT.
Brenda was a very intelligent, beautiful, caring, and sensitive woman. She had a great love for God, her family, people, and the church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and an inspiration to many. She was a humble person whose many deeds were only known to those she helped, there were many. For example, on numerous occasions over the years, she would take clothes and toys and setup tables in the parking lot of disadvantaged neighborhoods. As the word spread, within an hour all the items would be gone.
She was currently a member of First Assembly of God in Winston-Salem, NC. However, she has been an active member of the church all her life. Starting as early as 12, she was secretary for her grandmother's church, Gwyn's Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church in Ronda, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Scipio Tucker, IV.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Scipio Tucker, III; two daughters, Olivia Tucker and Michelle Tucker; three grandchildren, Latisha Trower, Eugene Tucker, and Triana Trower; one brother, Floyd (Patricia) Eller; one sister-in-law, Marie (Charles) Hoffler; a special cousin, Ralph (Faye) Dowell; special niece, Cheryl (John) Barrett; special friends, Teressa Hawkins and Virginia Patillo; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12Noon Saturday, August 22, 2009 from the First Assembly of God. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until Noon on Saturday at the Church.
