Mrs. Brenda Carolyn Smith Miller of 3295 Kittering Lane, Winston-Salem, NC departed this life Monday, April 14, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born December 20, 1953 in Winston-Salem to Charles S. Smith and Mary Evans Smith. She was a graduate of North Forsyth High School Class of 1972 and attended Winston-Salem State University. She was employed with Wachovia Bank until her health failed. She was also a former employee of First Union Bank, AT&T, and N.C School of the Arts.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Hawaitha Peoples
Mrs. Miller leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving son, John Ervin Miller, III.; her loving husband, John Ervin Miller, Jr.; her mother, Mary Evans Smith; three devoted caregivers, her sister, Doris Hairston and two nieces, Faye Hairston and Rosalyn Squirewell of Charlotte, NC; two other sisters, Elizabeth Hamilton (Ron) and Mary Smith both of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, James Peoples, Jr. and Don Charles Smith both of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted best friends, Sharon Little Walker, Ruth Simms of Charlotte, NC, Ardeicha Oliver and Sharon Hairston all of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many other friends.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, April 19, 2008 from the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Shalimar Drive, Winston-Salem, NC with Reverend Dr. John Mendez officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until Noon on Saturday at the Church. The funeral cortege will assemble and leave from the home of Doris Hairston, 630 Barbara Jane Avenue, W-S, NC 27105.
