Brenda Viola Crosby Henry, a lover of people and life's finer things transitioned from this life on earth Monday October 9, 2017. She was born on April 12, 1943 in Winston-Salem, NC.

Her parents were the late Ethen (June) Crosby and Louise Wingate Sheppard.  Her spiritual life was nurtured at Shiloh Baptist and St. Phillips Moravian Churches. Brenda's early childhood and high school education were completed at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic School and Atkins High School, whereupon afterwards she matriculated to NCA&T State University.  It was at A & T that Brenda became everyone's mother to which she remained until her death.

Brenda moved to New Jersey where she met her first husband, Bryant Henry. She remained there and worked for the banking industry until moving back home in the late 1970's.  When Brenda first returned home she worked at Delta Arts Center and later at US Airways from where she retired.

Loving everybody and traveling the world to see its beauty; entertaining family and friends and taking care of all the details were the joys of Brenda's life. She was a happy person, always.

She is survived by one sister, Enid T. Sheppard-Clark (Tony) of the home; other survivors include members of the Henry, Crosby, Sheppard, Wingate, and Eddy families; a devoted cousin, Sandra Harvey Hughes (Dwayne); beloved lifetime friends, Evelyn Terry (Fred), Marie H. Roseboro, Renee Shoaf, Charles McIntyre, and The Roberts of Chicago, IL; companion, Calvin Clement and his family; along with a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Chapel.
