Mrs. Brenda Faye Coachman, 63, departed this earth on May 26, 2021. Mrs. Coachman was born on December 31, 1957, in Winston-Salem, N.C. to Joseph Shannon Sr. and Eva Alice Carelock.

Mrs. Coachman was a loving and devoted Mother to five children and others whom she touched with her big heart. Mrs. Coachman graduated from Atkins High School here in the city of Winston-Salem, N.C. She worked countless factory jobs to support her children. She later pursued an Associate's Degree in Accounting. Mrs. Coachman was a faithful member of St. Mark Baptist Church.

Mrs. Coachman was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Alice Carelock; grandmother, Bertha Shannon Glenn; and her nephew, De'Shawn Douglas.

Mrs. Coachman leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Eric Craig Coachman Sr.; mother-in-law, Mamie Thomas of Bennettsville, S.C.; her father, Joseph Shannon, Sr. (Ida) of Winston- Salem, N.C.; five children, Nicole Shannon, Jason Shannon, Paulette Shannon, Eric Jr., and Kimberly Coachman all of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two siblings, Joseph Shannon, Jr. and Harold Shannon of Winston-Salem, N.C.; nine grandkids, Jim Jr., Khylisha, Jamal, Damien, Diamond, Daemond, Jason Jr., Michael, and Kharean; two great grandkids, Khlani and Jalea; three beloved sisters, Rev. Diane Townsend, Darlene Ellerbee of Bennettsville, S.C., and Sylvia Thomas of Morrow, G.A.; two special nieces, April Dalton and Crystal Graham of Bennettsville, S.C.; a special cousin, Chris Wilson (Teresa) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a special friend, "Hootie"; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Friday, June 4, 2021.  Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
