Brenda Louise Jordan Byrd was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She was family oriented and nothing made her happier than time spent with her family.
She was born in Winston-Salem, NC and attended the public schools, graduating from Atkins High School in 1964. She also attended Winston-Salem State University.
She was a faithful employee at AT&T for many years. She relocated to Midlothian, VA with AT&T where she retired after 30 years.
Brenda touched many lives with her kind, loving, and gentle spirit. She enjoyed shopping, listening to music, dancing, talking to family and friends on the telephone, and cheering on the "Dallas Cowboys."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Dilcie Jordan; and sisters, Classie M. Jordan and Clementine Jordan.
Brenda leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Bernard Byrd of Winston-Salem, NC; daughters, Tonya R. Byrd of Midlothian, VA and Tam B. Davis (Peter, her "Shining Star")of Chesterfield, VA; brothers, Allen Odell Jordan of Columbus, OH, Collins Charles (Bette) Jordan of Stratford, CT, Donald Jordan and Marion (Mary) Jones of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Claudette (Wilbert) McIntyre of Fort Worth, TX, and Phyliss Diane (Grady) Jackson of Winston-Salem, NC; uncle, Ulysses Fee of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law, Diane Byrd Ross of Winston-Salem, NC; a special niece, Sparklyn Jackson; a loving cousin, Carlos Sawyer; a devoted friend, Ossie Hairston; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Johnson officiating and Bishop Todd Fulton eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Friday at the funeral home.
