Brenda Joyce Blair Braham was born to the late Pauline Blair Rodman and Leroy Blair on February 1, 1945, at Kate Bitting Reynolds Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She attended Anderson High School and Forsyth Technical Community College, where she earned her nursing degree. She started her working career as a nanny. She also worked as a factory worker at Carolina Metalizing Co Inc., before she became a Licensed Practical Nurse in Orthopedics at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
Brenda was an active member and Sabbath School Teacher at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church until her health began to decline. Although she was unable to attend church, she still worshipped on the Sabbath, watched 3ABN, and did her Sabbath School Book. She was a devout Christian who heavily studied her bible and enjoyed the word of God. Brenda also enjoyed spending time with family, long talks on the porch, phone conversations with family and friends, fishing, and travelling.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Blair Rodman; father, Leroy Blair; grandmother, Airy Petree Ross; sisters, Carolyn Griffin and Sharon Diane Rodman Young; and her brother, Leroy Blair (Mary).
Brenda is survived by her husband, Bobby Lee Braham, Sr.; one daughter, Eva Blair (Mareo) Clapp; two sons, Donnavan K. "Pete" Blair and Bobby Lee "Tank" (Myshea) Braham, Jr.; two granddaughters, Shaketa Gillis (Javarius) Ford and Iyanna Booe-Braham; grandsons, Lynwood E. Gillis, III, Donnavan (Kendra) Blair, DaQuan Blair, Nygere Blair, Davion Blair, and Isaiah Blair; a host of great-grandkids of which three she had an intricate part in raising, Zae'Dyn Gillis, Javarius Ford, Jr., and Acoye' Gillis; her siblings, Reginald Rodman (Ari), Herbert Rodman, Denise Rodman, Keith Rodman (Patricia), and Virgil Rodman; a host of nieces and nephews of which two she helped raise as her own, Jermaine Rodman and Damica Rodman House; as well as a host of family and friends.
Thank you for all the wisdom, advice, prayers, whit, humor, and love you gave; you will truly be missed.
