Bradley Louis Timmons, Sr., 67, passed away at his home after a brief illness on Friday, July 5, 2013. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC on January 22, 1946 to Leola Lyerly and Vecue Sprinkle who preceded him in death.

Mr. Timmons graduated from Atkins High School in 1964. Mr. Timmons was a Veteran of the United States Army. After serving his country, he worked at RJR Tobacco Company for 34 years where he retired. He enjoyed being outdoors and took a special interest in lawn care. He was an avid mechanic who restored several vintage cars and his 1976 Harley Davidson motorcycle. In his past time, he loved traveling, playing his bass guitar, and spending time with his family, friends, and family pets: Clifford and Lacy. His life was guided by his love for God and his family, and he was well-liked and respected by his community and many friends over the years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Doris L. Timmons; daughter, Anita L. Timmons of Dumfries, VA; son, Bradley L. Timmons, Jr. and wife, Alquanette of W-S, NC; grandson, Jalen D. Timmons; step-mother, Dorothy Sprinkle; two sisters, Victoria (Mozell) Duncan and Margretta Lyerly; one brother, James Lyerly, Jr.; cousin, Eugene Timmons of Miami, FL; best friends, Chris Russell, Kenny (Lorraine) Watkins, Joe Anthony, and Bobby James; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Donald R. Littlejohn eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
