Obituary

Mr. Boyd Lee Archie, Jr., 79, was born August 24, 1934 in W-S, NC to the late Willie Lee Archie-Noble and Boyd Lee Archie, Sr. He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center with his beloved family at this side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Mr. Archie graduated from Kimberly Park Elementary School and attended Atkins High School. He retired as a machine operator after 31 years of service with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation.

Mr. Archie was a Deacon and former member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of Bivouac Masonic Lodge #503 PHA, King Solomon Consistory #64 with a 33rd degree. He was an honoree Past Potentate Sethos Temple #170.

Mr. Archie was preceded in death by his son, Robert L. Archie; and his daughter, Carmen A. Myers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Juanita F. Archie; sons, Calvin (Brenda) Drummond and Cedric (Quriston) Archie; daughter, Cynthia A. Coles; five granddaughters; two grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby R. Noble of University Place, WA; sisters-in-law, Diane S. Marsh and Delarion Campbell; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.

Final rites by the Sethos Temple #170 followed by the King Solomon Consistory #64 will be held at 6pm Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel, 822 Carl Russell Ave. W-S, NC 27101.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, June 21, 2014 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Spease officiating. Entombment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church. Masonic rites will be held on Saturday. All services are open to the public.
