Bonnie Sue Hickman was the loving daughter of the Amos and Mary Lee Hickman. Bonnie, affectionately known as "BB" was born April 22, 1958 in Danbury, NC. Bonnie peacefully transition from this life on Monday, January 14, 2013.
Bonnie was a 1976 graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and also attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Bonnie was well known is the communities of Winston-Salem and surrounding areas. She was most recently self-employed as a caregiver. Bonnie also worked at Baptist Hospital as she had a heart to serve others and was known for her "Thousand Watt Smile". Bonnie, a cheerful giver, volunteered at the Mission and used her personality/time to help the Cancer Society. Bonnie enjoyed sports especially football and basketball. Her favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Celtics. She enjoyed entertaining and laughing with others. If you've ever met her, you have shared a smile and laugh with her.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Mr. Amos and Mary Lee Hickman.
Bonnie was a devoted mother to her surviving son, Stephon Hickman (Kia) of Winston-Salem NC, grandchildren: Amare, Kiarra, Kiana, Kourtney, Kamron. Five sisters, Classie Williams (Johnny) of Orlando FL, Linda Hickman, Mandy Phillips (James), Delphine Davidson (Victor), and Alice Hickman all from Winston-Salem, NC. Two brothers Nino Hickman (Lori), and Edward (Meg) Hickman also from the Winston-Salem area. A devoted friend Keith Howell and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Uncompromising Word Fellowship, 2800 E. Sprague St. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family vistation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Church.
