Obituary
Mr. Bobby Joe Thompson, Sr. also known as "BobCat" departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. He was born February 4, 1936. Mr. Thompson was a retiree of R.J. Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert A. and Armenta Thompson; a brother, Willie George Thompson; and a daughter, Bobbie Jo Ann Thompson.
He is survived by his children, Betty Dove Johnson (Joshua), Laurie Thompson Murdock (Carl), Leilani Thompson Reed (James), Bobby Joe Thompson, Jr., and Barry Maurice Thompson; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at United Metropolitan Baptist Church, 450 Metropolitan Drive, Winston-Salem, NC, with the Rev. Prince Rainey Rivers officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon Tuesday at the church.
