Mr. Bobby Ray Taylor Carpenter, Sr. was born to Katie McKay Carpenter and the late J.T. Taylor on June 6, 1960 in Winston-Salem, NC. Bobby graduated from RJ Reynolds High School. He was an employee at Arbor Acres. Bobby was a member of Union Baptist Church at an early age. Bobby, better known as "Big Bob," was a kindhearted person and would give you anything you asked for! Bob loved to cook, especially for family gathering, any cookouts, etc. Bobby loved his Mother, his grandchildren, and especially his dog, Louie.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, J.T. Taylor; brother, Billy Taylor; and sister, Patricia A. Carpenter.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Katie M. Carpenter; his wife, Kathy D. Carpenter; his son, Bobby R. Carpenter, Jr.; daughter, Nicole (John) Rhinehardt; grandchildren; Aiden Carpenter, Kai, Khloe, and Kennedie Rhinehardt; brothers, Charles (Antoinette) Carpenter and Demorris (Susan) Carpenter; sister, Sharon Mashack; a host of uncles and aunts, Bertha Johnson, Oneil Taylor, J.W. Taylor, Moses McKay, and Charles McKay; devoted friends, Antonio (Carla) Dubose, Todd (Wanda) Johnson, James (Genevieve) McCoy, Roy Owens, "Blue" Flowers, "Stack" Robbins, and Kenny Thomas; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.  The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
