Mr. Bobby Joe Hicks, 64, of 111 East Sidney St., passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2009.
Bobby was born to the late Anderson P. and Helen Ruth Hicks on July 7, 1945. He attended the Forsyth County Public School and later attended Atkins High School. Bobby was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving brother, Anderson Hicks, Jr.
Bobby's memory will be cherished by his two loving and faithful children, Jovita (Carlton Binns) Davis, and Terrail (Kendra) Davis; five grandchildren, Teneya, Tigenia, KreShaun, Terrail, Jr., and Terraia; two brothers, Roosevelt (Evelyn) Hicks and Reverend Biggers (Ann) Hicks; a sister-in-law, Olivia (Faye) Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins from Winston-Salem, to Charlotte, to Rock Hill, SC; a dedicated caregiver, Brendella Torrence; the mother of his two children, Ygenia Davis, and many other relatives and friends.
He will be missed by his church family, Shiloh Baptist Church, where he has been a member for many years.
Funeral services will held at 12 Noon Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon on Saturday at the church.
