Mrs. Bobbie Irene Green Russell, 79, affectionately known as "Bee", was born on September 21, 1944 in Winston-Salem, NC to Eddie and Irene Martin Green.

She was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. After graduation she attended North Carolina A&T State University.  She worked at Western Electric for several years until her job was moved to Oklahoma.  She then worked at what was then called NCNB Bank, now known as Bank of America.

After several years in banking, she transitioned to the City of Winston-Salem Recreation Division as a payroll clerk, a job she enjoyed immensely, retiring after thirty years of service.

Bobbie passed away August 16, 2024 in Winston-Salem, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eddie, Jr., Levander, Phillip, and Quincey; and her sister, Brenda.

She leaves to celebrate her life her husband, Edward B. Russell; daughter, Catrice Russell Miller; grandchildren Chandler Edward Russell Miller and Channing Bobbie Russell Miller; aunt, Patricia A. Martin; special sister-in-law, Mrs. Omega Hightower; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Russell Webster, Camille Russell Love, Cynthia Russell Bruton, Carmen Russell Bonham, and Sandra Imes-Russell; brothers-in-law, Christopher Russell, Sr. and Cedric (Lita) Russell; nieces and nephews, Dwayne A. Hall, Jibril Muhaymin-Rashid "Buster" (Shani Rashid), Daryl Green, Sr. "Boo", Tyrus Clark, Jamicka Green Morgan (Demetrius), Christy Green Butler (Mac), and Christopher L. Green, Sr.; great-nieces and nephews, Daphne Smith, Daryl Green, Jr., Quishon Morgan, Britnee Morgan, Madison Clark, Tyler Clark, Daniel Green, Darrius Green, Dominic Green, Jul Rashid, Marcus Williams (Sausha), and Jordan Williams; great-great-nieces and nephews, Jachere and Janya Smith; adopted son and daughter, Carolyn (J.R.) Spann; Goddaughter, Kelley Anderson; special friends, Edith Bailey, Patricia Martin, Carol McDowell, Eleanor Saunders, and Joyce Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, August 23, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
