Pastor Bobbie A. Jones, Sr.

October 16, 1942 - June 11, 2024

Pastor Bobbie A. Jones, Sr., a devoted servant of God, loving family man, and committed community leader, peacefully departed this earthly realm on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Novant Medical Center following an extended illness. Born to Helen and Connell Jones in Forsyth County, Bobbie's life was marked by profound dedication and compassion.

A 1962 graduate of Atkins High School and Winsalm Business College, Bobbie met and married his high school sweetheart, the late Gearldine Miller Jones, on July 4, 1963. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1964. Their union was blessed with four children: Vallerie, Bobby Jr., Michael, and Anthony.

Pastor Jones accepted Christ at an early age and was ordained under the leadership of Bishop J.H. Covington at the Powerhouse of Deliverance Church in Greensboro, NC. Following divine guidance, Pastor Jones returned to Winston-Salem, where he founded the Uncompromising Word Fellowship. For 33 years, he faithfully pastored and ministered to countless individuals, sharing his God-given wisdom and love.

Pastor Jones was a gentle giant in Christ, whose presence and teachings will be deeply missed. His legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Gearldine Miller Jones; his parents, Helen and Connell Jones; his brothers, Lafayette and Herbert Jones; and his infant granddaughter, LaMicah Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Vallerie, Bobby (Almitra), Michael, and Anthony (Tiffany); his grandchildren: Karika, Shatarra, Michara, Jaenise, Alaysia, Michela, Gerrod, Lauren, and Kyndall; and his god-daughter, Emilia Duren.

Pastor Bobbie A. Jones, Sr.'s life was a testament to his unwavering faith and love for his family and community. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, June 14, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Fellowship Church, 2800 E. Sprague Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Church.
