Mrs. Bobbie Jean Jones Harris, the widow of David Lee Harris, Sr., passed away on March 28, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born March 13, 1938, the only daughter of Russell and Mamie Puryear Jones of Kernersville, NC.

Mrs. Harris was a graduate of Carver High School and attended Winston-Salem Teachers College (Winston-Salem State University).  She was a retiree of Western Electric (AT&T) after working there for 28 years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Gibson Jones.

Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gesette Tonya Crumpton and Mrs. Della (Michael) Kellam; step-son, David Lee Harris, II; brother, Wheeler M. (Shirley) Jones of Walkertown, NC; grandchildren, Ricky Royster, Lynn (Jerald) Hallums, Patrick Watson, Teneshia Watson, James Harris, and Christian Harris; great-grandchildren, Aniyah Bitting and Jay-Ceon Bitting all of Winston-Salem, NC; sister-in-law, Doris B. Jones; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and the extended Puryear and Harris families.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jesse Jones, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Monday at the Chapel.
