Mrs. Bleaker Morrow Ellis of 3155 Carver School Road Winston Salem, NC passed away in the early morning hours on March 9, 2015. Mrs. Ellis was born March 5, 1910 in Pineville, NC to the late Lewis and Della Kirk Morrow. Mrs. Ellis attended the local public schools and retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 43 years of service.
Mrs. Ellis was a lifelong and loyal member of Goler Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church where she was the first president of the Willing Workers Club, a member of the Deaconess Board and the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Ellis; brothers, William Morrow (Francis), Clarence Kirk Morrow and Johnie Kirk Morrow; sisters, Nora Wade (George) and Annie Belle Hauser (Charles); and her nephew, Roger Morrow.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving and faithful son, Robert Lewis Ellis; grandson, Javone Ellis; great-grandson, Tyshawn Jeffries; nephew, Geno Morrow of Buffalo, NY; niece, Dorothy Cole of Darlington, SC; several great nephews and nieces; her life will forever be cherished by her godchildren, S. Denise Transou, Jim and Cotton Conrad, Doris Thompson, and long-time friend, Lillie Mae Raines.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church with Reverend Johnny Ruff officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
The family is eternally grateful to her devoted caregivers, Kenny Moore, Faustina Benton, Linda McFatten and former daughter-in–law, Tanya Adams. The family extends heartfelt appreciation for the loving care and support of Hospice Palliative Care and her nurse, Melissa Neal.
