Mrs. Blanche B. Anderson was born on January 6, 1932 in Carthage, NC, but spent most of her life in Winston Salem, NC. An angel was dispatched on Monday, February 25, 2013 and called the lady known as "Mom" to many to her final resting place after a long battle with her health.
For many years she was a dedicated member of Goler Memorial where she served on the Deaconess Board; however, she attended Mt. Calvary Holiness Church with her children and grandchildren in her later years. Blanche was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend to many. She retired from Wake Forest University, and was then employed by Hanes Brand until her health declined. There were no strangers in her live because she would love and nurture everyone that she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Anderson; her parents, Rosa and Willis Morrison; five brothers and two sisters.
She leaves to celebrate her life and carry on her legacy eleven devoted children, Susan Wilson (Donald), Willie Brown (Debra), Edward Brown, Sr. (Carrie), Christopher Brown, Gwen Whitaker (Alex), Aldina Richardson, James Frazier (Latronda), Derran Frazier, Cheryl Brown, Vernon Brown, Sr. (Sonya), and Clara Brown; two sisters, Lille Brooks and Anner Palmer; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and children in the neighborhood; her devoted caregiver who she loved like her own, Ryan Curry; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12noon Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, 930 E. 14th St. with Pastor Tejado W. Hanchell officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, Rural Hall, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the Church.
