Bishop Donald E. Hall, son of the late Benjamin and Glenola Hall, was born on May 1, 1954, in the city of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Bishop Hall transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, August 9, 2021.
Bishop Hall attended the local public schools in Winston-Salem and graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1972. He was witnessed to by Elder James A. Leak on June 24, 1973, where he was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ under the administration of Elder Sherman R. Mahan. In August 1973, he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance.
Bishop Hall worked faithfully as a young brother in the church and held the offices of choir director, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, guitar player, and lead singer. In 1976, he was ordained as the youngest deacon in the church at that time. God called Bishop Hall into the ministry in 1979. He began his pastorate (as an Elder) in 1981 in Princeton (Raynortown), North Carolina.
Bishop Hall graduated with a doctoral degree in Theology from Apostolic Theological Bible College in Tampa, Florida, but his real education was derived from over 41 years of ministry. Bishop Hall dedicated his life preaching the word and saving souls not only through his ministry but also through his writing. In 2005, Bishop Hall published his first book called "Christians Beware of the Prosperity Gospel." He continued to write and published his second book in 2007, "Single Saved, Searching."
He was preceded in death by his sister, Paulette Lynn Moore, and brothers, Tyrone Posey and Charles Hall. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Susan Williams Hall; children, Dr. Deborah Winbush, Felicia Hall, Paris Hall, and Prince Hall; brother, Reginald Hall; sister, Johnsie Pettus-Rivers; granddaughters, Kendell White, Kayden White, and Courtney Winbush; grandsons, Cameron McCann, Christopher McCann, and Caleb Hall; one great-granddaughter, Grace McCann; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to True Deliverance Apostolic Church, P.O. Box 2224 Thomasville, NC 27361-2224.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Friday, August 13, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, August 14, 2021 at True Deliverance Apostolic Church, 702 Pineywood Road Thomasville, NC with Elder James Leak officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 401 W. Holly Hill Rd., Thomasville, NC 27360.
