Birdie Mae Wingate Lipscomb was born on July 19, 1943 to Benita Sansbury and Willie Durant in Darlington, South Carolina. She went on to be with the Lord on October 31, 2020.

She moved to Winston-Salem, NC as an adult. She met James Glenn in 1960 and a child was born to this union, James Glenn, Jr. She later met Harry Lipscomb in the early 1980's.  She would adopt the loves of her life,  Gerena and Geron.  She retired from RJ Reynolds.

She was a women of God and she later became an Elder at Mt. Nebo Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands;  one brother, Sammy Lee Sansbury; and four sisters,  Ruby Lee, Glory Jean, Shirley Ann, and Elaine Sansbury.

She is survived by her children, James Glenn, Jr., Geron Lipscomb, and Gerena Lipscomb; one grandson, Dayton MacDonald; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, November 03, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
