Billy Frank Rucker earned his heavenly wings on July 31, 2020.  He resided at Oak Forest Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility until his transition.  He was born in Mocksville, NC to Bishop Rucker and Mamie Wansley Rucker on November 4, 1932.  He married Margie Conrad Rucker and they had three children, Cynthia Rucker Collins (Roosevelt), Billy Frank Rucker, Jr. and Victor Wayne Rucker (Vickie) all of Winston-Salem, NC.  He later remarried Willie Mae Smith Rucker who is also deceased.

Mr. Rucker was employed at R.J. Reynolds for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching sports and he was a big Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his spouses; his son, Billy Frank Rucker, Jr.; his siblings, Outher Rucker, Leo N. Rucker, Howard Rucker, Ethel Bernice Stapler, Rev. Carlton Rucker Sr., and James Rucker.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Rucker Collins (Roosevelt); son, Victor Wayne Rucker (Vickie); one brother, Herman Rucker of Hephzibah, GA; two sisters, Christine Summers of Boston, MA, and  Clara Mae Tomlin of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was very loved at Oak Forest Rehabilitation and Nursing Home and attended Sunday services when churches would minister there. He was a member at Winston-Salem First Church until his health deteriorated.

His memories will always be in our hearts.

A viewing will be held from 12noon until 5:00pm Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2020.  Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
