Mr. Billy Moncrief departed this life on March 9, 2009 after a brief period of illness. He was born December 6, 1949 in Forsyth County to John and Christine Moncrief. Billy was a graduate of Atkins High School, was employed by Wilco Hess, and was the owner and operator of a Professional Window Washing business until his health began to decline.

Billy was a devoted husband, father, friend, and brother for us all. He loved God with all his heart and soul. Billy loved spending time with his boys, he was family oriented, and was a great bowler.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Roy Moncrief.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Shawn Moncrief; three children, Rashaad, Bryce, and Jason; three brothers, John (Debra) Moncrief of Cornelius, NC, Thomas Moncrief, and Jerry Moncrief of Havelock, NC; one sister, Elder Cynthia (Clarence) Hill; his father and mother-in-law, Johnny (Shirley) Correll; one sister-in-law, Sonya Cook; 18 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends, and one partner, Greg Nivens.

Homegoing services will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 14, 2009 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Olivia Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until 1pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
