Beverly Banner Whitsett, affectionately known as "Bev", and "Big B", was born on February 12, 1954 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Elmer F. and Valine S. Banner. On Sunday March 26, 2023 Beverly transitioned from earthly labor to heavenly reward at Oak Forest Rehabilitation Center in Winston- Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Vernon A. "Pee Wee" Banner
Beverly attended and graduated from North Forsyth High school in 1972. After graduation she attended Winston Salem Business College and went on to work for Baptist Hospital in Winston- Salem for 13 years as an administrative assistant in Radiology.
As a young woman she dedicated her life to Christ and the church. She later joined Prince of Peace Baptist Church where she directed several choirs. One of her favorite songs to lead was "The Holy Ghost".
Beverly was truly one of a kind. She loved travelling, and dancing. She spent many weekends on the road with her husband enjoying the music of the Pizazz Band and meeting new people. She loved spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren who called her BiBi. She took great pride in making sure everyone in the family was recognized on birthdays, anniversaries, and any accomplishments they made.
Beverly brought joy and laughter to any situation she was in. She had a heart of gold, and she always had a word of encouragement to share with everyone, even though at times she was not well herself.
