Mrs. Betty Louise Patterson Martin, age 90, of Boone, North Carolina passed away Sunday evening, January 16, 2022, at her residence.

She was born December 28, 1931, in Boone North Carolina, a daughter of the late Henry Alexander Patterson and Mary Grimes Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanette Martin; her son, Jeffery Martin; parents, Henry Alexander Patterson and Mary Grimes Patterson; her husband, Harrison Benjamin Martin, siblings, Mary Joe Patterson Pegram, Sheila Patterson Bailey, James "Bud" Patterson, and Joey Patterson.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Martin Barrie and Karen Martin Wilson; son, Vincent Martin; grandchildren, Velma Martin Bowens, Ava Martin, Phillip Scott, Terrell Conrad, Latarsha Henderson, and Tamika Henderson; great grands, Dominique Shipp, Damien Shipp, and Justin Patrick, whom she helped raise; along with 7 more great-grands; 19 great-great grandchildren; her sisters and brothers, Joan Patterson Suddreth , Margaret Patterson Smith, Michael Patterson, Arvette "Sis," Patterson Pearson, and Henry Patterson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 28, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
