Mrs. Betty Livingston Lowery was born on July 18, 1931 to Thomas and Louise Livingston in Fairmont, NC. She passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010.
She retired from Sara Lee and previously resided at Salem Terrace and Oak Forest Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of First Waughtown Baptist Church and served on the Missionary Board.
Mrs. Lowery was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy Lowery; and her brothers, Robert, Linwood, and Roger Livingston.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. (Charles) Gardner; a granddaughter, Ashante' N. Lowery; a grandson, Kevin S. Gardner of Queens, NY; a great granddaughter, Alnisa M. Lassiter; a great grandson, Corey A. Cuthrell all of Winston-Salem; sisters, Clementine (Walter) Ray of Winston-Salem, Lue (Donnell) McNeill of Baltimore, MD, Sallie Thacker of Enfield, NC, Jean Stackhouse, and Smithie Faulk both of Fairmont, NC ; brothers, Thomas (Lela)Livingston, Jr., Emmanuel Livingston both of Fairmont, NC, Leon (Grace) Livingston of Durham, NC, and Harvey (Martha) Livingston of Charlotte, NC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, December 23, 2010 at First Waughtown Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Thursday at the church.
